ANF kits are fun for all the family. They contain loads of exciting equipment for adventuring, documenting, foraging and mixing as well as a step-by-step guide to making awesome, natural products. But every kit is missing one key ingredient – and you need to follow the guide to go forage for it!
Everything you need
Get outside and forage for materials in your local area.
Follow the guide included in your kit to get out and find naturally abundant materials such as pine cones, sea shells, nettles or coffee grounds. It’s easy to forage in the city, the countryside or by the sea.
First — Explore
Smash, dry, grind, squeeze and powder your finds.
Foraged materials form the base for all of our recipes. You’ll need to process them into powder or paste, ready to mix with our supplied, natural extras (such as agar agar - a seaweed extract) to get your mix ready for production.
Then — Magic
Mix it all with natural ingredients to make incredible things.
You can then make everything in your kitchen at home with a bit of help from an adult. It's about as complicated as baking a cake, and takes the same amount of time. You might be syringing an egg-shell Christmas decoration or slip-casting a biodegradable bucket and spade ready for the beach!
Finally — Create!
Everything you need to get making.
Small samples of certain natural materials such as agar agar, mixing, dipping and sieving tools and most importantly, instructions on where and how to forage for your missing ingredients! A typical box will contain:
- a pipette
- a syringe
- a beaker or flask
- a field note book
- instructions guide
- a pencil
- key materials
What’s in the kits?
We all love being outdoors, right?
But sometimes a purpose for getting out there is the push we need. On the darkest of winter days, or in the seemingly endless summer holidays A New Field gives you and your family that purpose. The foraging part of your ANF project can take an hour or a day, could be in the local park, high street, on the beach or deep in the wilds. What matters is you’re getting out with a purpose.
